Other Info:
- Physical & Mental: In good physical condition. Work on Footspeed. Mentally tough.
- Ball Skills: Needs to work on catching the ball and shooting; with a quick release. Has trouble handling the ball in the open floor.
- Offense: Has three point range but is very inconsistent due to a lack of quality shot mechanics. Must develop a pull up jumper, and work on shooting under conditions of fatigue. Continue to work on shot creation and court judgment. Forces too many shot. Must utilize his size to score more inside.
- Rebounding: Continue to work on positioning and timing. Utilizing size and strength should lead to more rebounds. Not aggressive enough.
- Defense: Must work on his on the ball defense and as well as defense away from the ball. Improve footwork and keep offensive player in front of him. Defensive stance must also improve.
- Game Knowledge: Solid understanding of the game. Adapts well to pro rules and style of game. Must continue to learn better court judgment.
- Strengths: Uses his length well but needs to utilize it when rebounding and when defending. Quickness of release. Three point range. Moves well on offense without the ball.
- Opportunities for Improvement: Defense – both on the ball and away from the ball. Rebounding. Mid range jumper. Penetration inside. Court judgment. Free throw shooting.
- Overall Comments: Vernon has the size to be talented player, but he must continue to train and develop a better all around offensive game. He is coachable but needs to assert himself more in a positive way on both ends of the floor.
