Winning Ways Pro International Testing Package

This battery of tests is given to each athlete at the beginning and at the conclusion of their training program.  The results listed below are actual results and where noted number expected, indicates the professional player at a comparable position and size.

Footspeed:   defensive slants from foul lane to foul lane in a 30 second time period.

Takes/Makes:  elbow to elbow jump shots, demonstrating quickness of release and accuracy.  Drill is 60sec.

Chair Drill:  a full court drill where player has maximum of 4 dribble from foul line to basket, laying the ball up and exploding back to 1 of 4 perimeter spots for outside shots.  Must continue drill until all 4 shots are made.

Foul Shooting:  3 sets of 5 free throws, where by each set is under additional conditions of fatigue.

*There are no breaks during this testing.

Physical & Mental:  Excellent physical condition.  Shows a real mental toughness on both ends of the floor and is a true competitor.
Ball SkillsGood ball handling in the open floor, must improve handling the ball in traffic.  Possesses excellent court vision and judgment.  Has ability to find the open man and pass to his teammates strengths.
Offense:  Good movement away from the ball.  Needs to improve his ability to create his own shot.  Has excellent court judgment and knows where to be and when.  Must work on developing consistent shooting range out to 20-23ft.  Needs to develop a consistent pull up jumpshot.
Rebounding:   Good anticipation and timing.  Excellent rebound positioning for a guard. 
Defense:   Above average footspeed on the defensive end.  Needs to work on keeping his man in front of him.  Plays good defense away from the ball and on the help side.  Must improve his one on one defense against smaller, quicker guards.
Game Knowledge:  Has a good overall knowledge of the game.  Understand the flow of the game on both ends of the floor.  However, must continue to learn the rules and regulations associated with professional basketball overseas. 
Strengths:   Moving without the ball on offense.  Court judgment.  Rebounding timing and anticipation.  Court vision.
Opportunities for Improvement:   Develop a consistent pull up jumper.  Defensive footspeed.  Shooting range.
Overall Comments:   Michael is a very coachable player.  He is always looking for constructive criticism and he possesses a real desire to learn from his mistakes and grow as a player.
