    Christopher Rivers

Christopher Rivers is Director of Basketball Sports Marketing Reebok International, Canton, MA.  He was named to this position in September 2006.   Rivers’ name is synonymous for having relationships and influence with the nation’s elite amateur talent as he was recently featured in articles in Dime and King
Magazines. 

His storied professional career began as founder of In Your Eye Sportsgear, an upstart apparel company and has spanned from academics to athletics as he also taught World History in Alameda, CA, managed one of the first online basketball recruiting services and has launched several successful mediums to provide exposure to emerging talent. 

He has a keen eye for entrepreneurial direction as he has led several business enterprises including high profile basketball camps and elite tournaments.  While working for adidas America, Rivers efficacious approach in developing the grassroots basketball machine catapulting the brand into one of the most powerful vehicles in amateur sports.

As an eminent figure in amateur and professional sports, Rivers was at the helm of adidas America’s recruiting campaigns and contractual efforts for the NCAA’s 2002 National Player of the year, Jason Williams as well as the NBA’s 2003 top draft pick, LeBron James.  He has received endorsements and the adulation of many high profile individuals, including: sports agent Bill Duffy; UCLA Head Men’s Basketball Coach Ben Howland and Ryan Jones, former Editor-in-Chief, SLAM Magazine

Rivers is a 1992 graduate of the University of California-Davis with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Rhetoric and Communications and a Minor in African-American Studies. A former four-sport letterman, he is an active member of several professional and community programs including the UC-Davis Alumni Association, EA Foundation and Scholar Athletes Inc. a mentorship program for Bay Area high school students. 

In Rivers present role, he is challenged with contributing to Reebok’s global brand direction of the basketball category by overseeing the marketing, servicing and product placement of all NBA and professional international athletes, amateur and professional team sponsorships and grassroots events including the high profile Reebok Euro Camp and the Entertainer’s Basketball Classic. 

Rivers, 38, commutes between Canton, MA and Wilsonville, OR where he resides with his wife Gretchen and two children Lauren (8) and Zachary (5).
