Internship:  Basketball Operations

Job Title:  Basketball Operations Intern

Reports To:  Vice President Operations

Time Frame:  Sep-Dec - 2008

Hours:  20-40 hours per week

Non-Paid

 

Job Summary:  Assist all Winning Ways Pro International staff with day-to-day responsibilities that involve various aspects of the company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

  1. Assist with all daily administrative functions which include:  answering phones, filing, scheduling, etc.
  2. Assist in the maintaining of company website which includes:  periodic site updates, posting and maintaining updated player profiles, and maintaining updated calendars and headlines.
  3. Assist with Combine and Camp responsibilities – Scouting, Evaluating, Video Taping/Editing, post camp and pre camp mailings.
  4. Assist with Player Training – Video Taping/Editing, training.
  5. Assist with other branches of company when needed.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  1. Excellent verbal and written skills, posses basketball knowledge, and Sports Management major (or related field).
  2. Currently enrolled in college/university or recent college graduate.
  3. Ability to effectively communicate with outside cliental; such as agents, professional basketball players, scouts, and professional basketball organizations.
  4. Ability to effectively communicate and work with coworkers. 
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  6. Ability to multi-task and maintain confidential information.
  7. Maintain a professional image.
  8. Ability to work some nights, weekends and holidays.  Be able and open to travel.

Winning Ways Pro International is an independent pro basketball training and scouting company.  WWPI effectively runs Pro Combines, Camps, and training sessions in order to assist the aspiring professional basketball player in receiving maximum exposure to the professional basketball market.  WWPI also runs team training sessions for professional basketball organizations looking to improve any and all aspects of their team game.  In addition WWPI is a private scouting company that will scout games and/or players from all over the globe for any interested professional or collegiate team.
